NewCold Extends The Sponsorship of the BSBN for Four Years

NewCold has extended its sponsorship of the Dutch Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (BSBN) until the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan. After the success of last season, the internationally operating company will remain associated with the federation for four years. Bram Hage, CEO of NewCold, Piet Meijs, former Vice President Business Development at NewCold, Wim Noorman, chairman of the BSBN, and Vincent Kortbeek, Technical Director of the BSBN signed the agreement on Tuesday at the partner’s headquarters in Breda.

The Dutch Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (BSBN) is the umbrella organization for the sports bobsleigh, skeleton and luge in the Netherlands. The winter of 2021-2022 was a historic season for the federation. Team NewCold, as the Dutch team has been called since the sponsorship, was represented in no fewer than four disciplines during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. The two-man bob, four-man bob, monobob athlete Karlien Sleper and skeleton athlete Kimberley Bos competed at the highest level. Kimberley Bos won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Beijing, a unique achievement for the sledding sports in the Netherlands and only the second medal at the Winter Olympics for the Netherlands ever that was not achieved on a skating rink. Prior to that, Kimberley had already had a successful World Cup season. The skeleton athlete won six medals in various World Cups, including two gold, three silver and one bronze. These great performances made Kimberley Bos the winner of the World Cup standings.

Piet Meijs, former Vice President Business Development at NewCold says: “Our sponsorship of the federation to the Beijing Winter Olympics generated a lot of positive feedback and we are delighted to continue this partnership towards the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan”. Bram Hage, CEO of NewCold, sees important similarities between the BSBN and NewCold in terms of growth and innovation. “The BSBN attaches great importance to innovation of sleighs and in terms of training. In addition, young talents of the federation are given the opportunity to grow. NewCold applies innovation by automating processes and offers young people the space to further develop their talent”.

Wim Noorman, chairman of the Dutch Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation: “Courage, vision and confidence are needed to enter into a new contract with the BSBN for another 4 years after the successful Beijing 2022 Olympic Games.  For the first time in our history, a sponsor gives us this trust.  A trust we should not betray.  I am grateful and happy that with NewCold we have a partner who wants to embark on this new path with us.”  Skeleton athlete Kimberley Bos is very happy with the long-term collaboration with NewCold.  “It gives security for my program and the opportunity for the BSBN to start training my successor!”  Vincent Kortbeek, Technical Director of the BSBN: “The collaboration with NewCold gives us the opportunity to constructively build our programs.  Our values are very similar, so we can really talk about a partnership!”
