Legacy NewCold site in Argentan doubling capacity with 2026 extension

NewCold Argentan, located in Normandy, France, holds a special place in our company’s history. Originally part of Partner Logistics Europe (PLE), Argentan became the very first official NewCold site when the company was reimagined — marking the beginning of our global journey. Today, it remains a cornerstone of our international network, representing the values that define NewCold: innovation, sustainability, and long-term partnership.

For over a decade, Argentan has proudly served YSCO, a collaboration that began in 2012 and continues to thrive thanks to mutual trust, reliability, and a shared focus on quality. This enduring partnership has been instrumental in shaping our approach to customer relationships, one built on consistency and a deep understanding of our partners’ needs. Many of the Argentan team members have also played a key role in supporting colleagues across our global network, sharing their expertise during site start-ups and technical projects.

In 2011, NewCold followed our anchor customer YSCO to the region of Normandy. Nearly 14 years later, we are proud to reflect on the success of this decision. Our roots in Argentan are stronger than ever, and our ongoing collaboration with YSCO continues to be a foundation for growth.

Now, as demand increases from both YSCO and other regional food companies, NewCold is taking the next step: a major extension of the Argentan facility. Representing an investment of over €50 million, this project will double the site’s storage capacity and further strengthen our ability to serve the growing needs of our customers. Scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2026, the expansion underscores our confidence in the region and our commitment to providing state-of-the-art, energy-efficient logistics solutions.

The site is piloting autonomous mobile robotics and next-generation 3D shuttle systems from Movu, setting new benchmarks for automation and efficiency in cold chain logistics. At the same time, the local team is deeply engaged in initiatives to reduce energy use and protect the environment, contributing to NewCold’s broader sustainability goals.

Beyond logistics, Argentan’s impact extends into the local community. For nearly 15 years, the site has been a key local employer, offering stable, skilled jobs and contributing to the regional economy.
